Lexus LF-Ch concept
Lexus will unveil a concept for a new car that will compete in Europe with popular entry-premium cars such as the BMW 1 series and Audi A3.
Called the LF-Ch, the five-door concept is a gasoline-electric hybrid car.
Media reports suggest that the production model will have gasoline and diesel engines as well as a hybrid powertrain when it goes on sale in 2011.
Lexus said the concept is a response to the growing demand for cars that are smaller and more fuel and CO2 efficient.
With a wide track, long wheelbase and low centre of gravity, the LF-Ch has a muscular stance. It has a new, bolder Lexus grille design above a deep, full-width bumper. The front wings are sharply sculpted.
Lexus says the concept is an evolution of its L-finesse design philosophy.
