What NADA needs
The National Automobile Dealers Association is searching for a new president at an auspicious time. Dealers face an uncertain future in a rapidly changing auto industry. Customers want to buy cars in new ways, factories demand expensive facility renovations and regulators want to impose more red tape.
Too often, associations hire managers who have worked at other associations because they can manage a bureaucracy.
But now more than ever, dealers need a strong advocate. NADA must look for a leader who understands dealerships and appreciates the demands of being a dealer today -- not just a bureaucrat who understands associations.
