A new entry-level crossover from GMC is getting closer to production, spy photos indicate. The baby GMC is expected to be based on GM's Gamma-2 architecture that underpins the Buick Encore, Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Trax in the U.S. The expected subcompact crossover could be called Granite, after a 2010 concept. It is expected to arrive in showrooms in 2020
BMW electric 3 series spy photosAug. 14
Spy photos of BMW's electric 3 series, referred to as a Tesla Model 3 fighter, have emerged in Europe. The range for the electric 3 series is unknown, but it should deliver 250 to 300 miles on a full charge if it expects to compete with the Model 3.
Honda Passport spy photosAug. 14
The first photographs of Honda's revived Passport crossover have emerged undergoing road tests in California. The all-new crossover will slot between the CR-V and Pilot and is expected to be about 6 inches shorter than the Pilot and compete with the Ford Edge, Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and Nissan Murano in the midsize crossover segment. It is expected to be powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine. It could be unveiled as early at the 2018 Los Angeles auto show in November.
Chevrolet Corvette C8.R spy photosAug. 10
Unlike previous spy shots of the midengine Chevrolet Corvette production model, recent photos of the racer version have no heavy camouflage. The race car, reportedly called the C8.R, is expected to share similar characteristics with its production counterpart. While GM has not confirmed plans for a midengine Corvette, the long-rumored and highly anticipated car is expected to arrive in the next year or so as a 2020 model. The C8.R is expected to compete in the GT-class and replace the current C7.R.
2019 McLaren 600LTAug. 6
The McLaren 600LT, the LT stands for "Longtail," gets its name from a body that is 2.9 inches longer than a 570S coupe. Track-ready features include an extended front splitter, lengthened rear diffuser and a fixed rear wing -- all composed of carbon fiber. The 600LT is also equipped with a top-exit exhaust system, which McLaren says contributes to additional weight savings.

The 2019 Buick Regal Sportback Avenir is the latest nameplate to receive the brand's high-end treatment. The Regal Sportback Avenir includes tweaked exterior and interior styling and additional convenience and luxury amenities such as 19-inch Pearl Nickel wheels and the brand’s first cloud-connected infotainment system. The car arrives in showrooms in early fall.

The 2019 Toyota 86 TRD Special Edition features improved grip, improved brakes, improved aerodynamics and a host of cosmetic changes. The “Ultimate Performance” 86 adds bigger Brembo brakes (12.8 inches front with four-piston calipers and 12.4/two-caliper rear), Sachs dampers and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. Mercedes-Benz's A-class sedan, targeted at millennial buyers, will nudge out the CLA as Mercedes’ entry-level product in the U.S. The sedan, available as an A 220 and A 220 4MATIC, is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four turbocharged engine that produces 188 hp and 221 pound-feet of torque. It is expected to be priced in the low $30,000s when it rolls into showrooms late this year.
2019 Porsche MacanJuly 25
Porsche has updated its Macan crossover with a fresher design, improved handling, and more comfort and connectivity features. The automaker said it reworked the front end to make the vehicle appear even wider while overhauling the rear, which now has a three-dimensional LED light strip. Inside, the Macan's touchscreen display on the console has been enlarged to 11 inches from 7 inches previously.
2019 Audi Q3July 25
Audi has made the Q3 bigger and added more tech and connectivity equipment as part of second-generation engineering changes to the tiny crossover. The Q3 switches to parent Volkswagen Group's flexible MQB architecture from an older platform. Inside, the Q3 has a new digital instrument cluster with a 10.25-inch diagonal multimedia screen that comes standard in all models. The Q3 will go on sale in Europe in November and in the U.S. in 2019.
2019 Hyundai Veloster NJuly 24
The 2019 Hyundai Veloster is the first U.S. nameplate to be tuned by the automaker's new N performance subbrand. It sports a turbocharged 2.0-liter, 275-hp engine with 260 pound-feet of torque, a six-speed manual transmission, 18- or 19-inch wheels and special N badging. The Veloster N is aimed at hot hatches such as the Volkswagen Golf GTI. It is set to arrive in the U.S. in the fourth quarter of 2018.
Hyundai Kona Iron Man editionJuly 24
Hyundai is extending its Marvel collaboration with a special Iron Man edition of the Kona subcompact crossover. The superhero-inspired Kona is adorned with an Iron Man mask motif on the roof, Iron Man mask badging on the front fender, custom wheels with the Iron Man mask on the center caps and Iron Man engraving for the D-pillars, in addition to other modifications. The crossover's paint is Iron Man red with matte gray.
